Southwest Dekalb's Brant to Visit Miami (OH)

Brandon Brant tells GAVSV.com that he's looking forward to heading to the Buckeye state this weekend

Brandon Brant is a talented two-way player at Southwest Dekalb High.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder has lined up at defensive end, linebacker and offensive line in his stellar three-year career. In his final season he is slated to line up primarily at outside linebacker while still playing some offensive guard.

GAVSV.com recently spoke with Brant about how recruiting is going, his plans for the summer and an impending visit this weekend.

GAVSV.com: Brandon, have you received any official scholarship offers yet?

Brant: No sir, not yet. But I have been hearing from a lot of schools.

GAVSV.com: Which schools?

Brant: I have been hearing from Miami of Ohio, Akron, UAB and Dartmouth.

GAVSV.com: Have you been to visit any of those schools or do you have any plans to visit some of them?

Brant: I am actually going to Miami of Ohio this weekend for their Junior Day. I am going with my family on Saturday and we are going to stay with some family that we have in Ohio.

GAVSV.com: What are you looking forward to seeing there?

Brant: I am excited to see the facilities and meet with the coaches. I want to see what they have to offer. I have a few former teammates that graduate two years ago that go there. They tell me about it.

GAVSV.com: Do you plan on going anywhere else after that trip?

Brant: I am hoping to get invited to some Nike camps. I plan on going to camps at Wake Forest, UAB, Kentucky, Ohio State and a few others.

GAVSV.com: You are going to playing linebacker your senior season on defense rather than defensive end. Which position do you feel more comfortable playing?

Brant: Outside linebacker. I feel better playing there and that is the position that colleges are looking at me for.
