Alex Matos is just about finished with spring practice at Chattahoochee High rising senior is looking forward to the upcoming season.
"We are almost done," Matos said Wednesday night. "I have just been working hard to be a better player for my last year. The coaches have me playing more in the slot."
The coaches decision to utilize Matos in a different way certainly doesn't come as surprise. The 5-7 1/2 running back is a speedster that can get away quickly from defenders.
As for recruiting, Matos said that he has been hearing from the same three schools for quite some time.
"North Carolina, Virginia and Air Force all send me letters," he said.
While there hasn't been any scholarship offers extended his way, that could change next season when college coaches get to see him in his new role for Chattahoochee.
This summer, Matos says he plans to attend a few camps but hasn't decided which ones yet.
