GAVSV.com recently spoke with Stephenson High School star linebacker Nigel Mitchell-Thornton. The following is some of the highlights of the conversation with the 6-2, 210-pound defender.
GAVSV.com: Any recent college scholarship offers that we should know about?
Mitchell-Thornton: There's a few. I just got a written letter of an offer from Purdue. I also have been told by coaches from Louisville, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Valdosta State that an offer is on the way. Plus, Clemson and Penn State told me that there's a high possibility that I will get an offer from them.
GAVSV.com: What is your experience or knowledge regarding the Boilermakers?
Mitchell-Thornton: I haven't spoken much to them but I definitely want to and I want to learn more.
GAVSV.com: Are there any programs that haven't extended an offer or said they may extend an offer that you hear from on a consistent basis?
Mitchell-Thornton: Yes, there is. Tennessee, Florida, Miami and Auburn have all been showing interest.
GAVSV.com: Do you have a busy summer planned?
Mitchell-Thornton: Yes. I am supposed to be going to a lot of different camps at a bunch of different schools and I am going to take some visits to schools, too.
