Milton Patterson is very appreciative of his first Division I college scholarship offer.
"I am very, very excited to get my first offer from a program like Mississippi State," Patterson said. "They are a program on the rise and they have a lot of good players."
The Banneker High linebacker has been hearing from several schools throughout the southeastern part of the United States.
But he says the offer from the Bulldogs is extra special since it's offer No. 1.
"It means a lot," Patterson said. "It's a blessing to get an offer at all."
The 5-11, 224-pounder is eager to see the campus in Starkville, Miss. when he heads to the program's camp on July 12.
"I have never seen the campus so I am looking forward to seeing the intensity of the team," Patterson said. "I want to see the facilities and see how I work with the coaches."
