For many soon-to-be senior high school students, the summer months are spent vacationing and enjoying time away from school.
Nigel Mitchell-Thornton is not one of those students.
The Stephenson High linebacker has a busy schedule planned this summer.
"I have a lot of trips to colleges coming up in the next few weeks," Mitchell-Thornton told GAVSV.com. "I am going to be going to several camps."
So, where is the 6-2, 210-pound linebacker headed?
"I am going to Alabama (today)," Mitchell-Thornton said, "and then I am going to be going to Georgia Tech, Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn and Florida."
The three-star defender recently took a trip to South Carolina to check out the Gamecocks campus and take part in the program's camp.
The trip was an eye-opener for the Stephenson star.
"It was great," Mitchell-Thornton said. "The coaches were really interested in me. I got to see a lot. I am thinking about going to their showcase in July."
