Cornelius Washington was one of the top rated prospects in the Peach State for 2008 as a star defensive end for Burke County High School.
Recruitment: Washington's recruitment ended right when it started. The 6-4, 225-pound pass-rusher was offered a college scholarship by Georgia coaches at the Bulldogs' camp in the summer of 2007 and he committed on the spot. Despite several offers from various top-flight programs throughout his senior season, Washington stayed true to his word and will soon be a Bulldog.
At UGA: Washington will have the opportunity for playing time right off the bat in Athens. Washington made his name in high school by getting to the quarterback and was rated the 13th-best defensive end in the nation. His ability to reach the backfield will come in handy as the Bulldogs take a a likely No. 1 ranking into the 2008 season.
