Background: The No. 3-ranked punter in the nation for 2008, Dawson Zimmerman has a big leg and quick release. The three-star prospect was a star at Brookwood High.
Recruitment: Zimmerman became Clemson's 11th commitment in June of 2007 and never wavered in his decision to end his recruitment before his senior season.
At Clemson: Tigers coaches love Zimmerman's ability to punt the ball consistently over 45 yards and his ability to put the ball in the endzone on kickoffs. At Clemson the Peach State native may have to wait a season to show off that big leg as the Tigers boast a senior at both punter and kicker. A redshirt for Zimmerman seems likely.
