The first half and the beginning of the third quarter were fairly quiet affair as Grayson and McEachern were tied at seven. But big plays and mistakes on special teams led to a venerable shootout in the second half. A 7-7 game seemed to go to 24-14 in favor of Grayson almost in the blink of an eye.
After trading multiple big plays, Grayson's stable of running backs led by Greg Zellner, James Earl Jones and Ean Pemberton, and its option
offense with Tyler Horne at quarterback wore down the Indians, and the Rams had
a comfortable 31-14 lead. McEachern made things interesting with a touchdown
pass to Terrell Mitchell, but fumbled away the next possession on another
special teams play when they held the Rams to a three and out.
Grayson killed the clock and finished with a 31-21 victory.
