Calhoun Linebacker Gets First Offer

Playing for a team with many prospects and a team that reached the Georgia Dome this year, helps the players get attention from all over the country. One prospect that this helped was Calhoun Georgia's Cody Ralston.

Playing with players such as Da' Rick Rogers and Nash Nance will almost guarantee that many schools will find their way up I-75 from Atlanta to Calhoun high school.

It does not hurt that your team just played on statewide television in the state championship game either. One of those players that was surely going to get noticed was 2010 LB Cody Ralston. Last week Cody received a phone call from his Dad to let him know that Central Florida had extended a offer to him.

Cody, how did you find out that Central Florida offered you?

Cody Ralston-" They called my coach after watching my film and offered me. Coach Lamb called my Dad and he called me. They asked me to call them and they told me about the offer and some things about their school. I was excited."

What other schools are you hearing from?

Ralston-" LSU invited me to one of their camps, Louisville, and Rutgers.I hear the most from Purdue."

Have you had time to reflect on junior year?

Ralston -" I knew we were very talented team going into the season and then Da'Rick moved in and that made us that much better. I knew if we got everything going we would be hard to stop and that proved to be right. I got hurt in the first game and then had to wear a shoulder brace for a while. I got moved to OLB/Rover and played there rest of the year."

There is a lot of talk about Calhoun being preseason number 1. Have you guys discussed this?

Ralston-" Coach Lamb met with each player and discussed team goals. We know what the goal is every year at Calhoun and that is to win the state championship. We have to replaced some lineman, but we have people working hard to take those spots over."

What would you like to tell the fans from Calhoun about the upcoming season?

Ralston-" I would tell them to look for another state championship run because I think we have the team to do it. We have some young kids ready to step up."
