Georgia Tech Commit Chase Butler Talks Season

Gavsv.com speaks with Darlington Duo on the eve of the playoffs and 1st round match up against Mt.Paran

To say that Georgia Tech commit Chase Butler is "tearing it up" would be a understatement. This young man is hitting over .530 with 7 HR's in 21 games.

You are a Junior and committed to Georgia Tech. What schools were recruiting you before you chose Georgia Tech?

Chase Butler-" Georgia, South Carolina, Duke and Kentucky.

What made you chose Georgia Tech?

Butler-" Just more of a chance to play early and I really like the coaching staff there.

What are some of you stats on the year?

Butler -" I am hitting .535 with 7 Hr's and 25 RBI's. I also have around 12 doubles."

Tomorrow starts the playoffs, has your team discussed winning the state championship?

Butler-" We talked about it at the beginning of the year, but our main goal was to win the region and we did that. Now we turn our focus on winning each series in the state playoffs. Our record is 19-2 and we feel like we have a good shot at winning the whole thng."

Brice Baker is a left handed Senior that has committed to Young Harris college. He is 8-0 with ERA of .089.

What are all your stats?

Brice Baker- I am 8-0 with .89 era. I have pitched 57 innings and gotten 51 strikeouts.

Do you consider yourself a power pitcher or a spot pitcher ala Tom Glavine?

Baker- "I am a left handed spot pitcher that tries to work the corners as much as I can."

Being a senior and the team ace are you nervous going into the playoffs tomorrow?

Baker-" I am not that nervous going into the playoffs. I am just trying to stay focused and get us a win tomorrow."
