Awesome Night Ends With A Shocker

What was already a awesome night at Coosa Country Club turned into a even better one for all the fans in attendance.

Fans from schools such as Alabama,Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech and many others all came together for the 1st annual Scout.Com/GAVSV.com football kickoff dinner in Rome, Georgia Friday night.

A all star panel of Scott Kennedy, Chad Simmons and Andrew Bone all spoke about recruiting and honored a few players that were in attendance.

Juwuan Thompson running back from Woodward Academy decided to make his college decision on Friday night. He chose Duke in the end over schools like Tulane, Ole Miss, Boston College, Syracuse and Virginia. Thompson is a bruising back and is a monster get for the Blue Devils.

Calhoun duo Da' Rick Rogers and Nash Nance spoke to the crowd about their decisions to play in the SEC at Vanderbilt and Georgia.

Alex Sentell of Darlington HS was there and I spoke with him about his future. As I told the crowd on Friday night, I haven't seen a film on player that plays any harder any where in state. He is currently talking with Georgia Southern, Furman and several schools. Look for the recruiting of Sentell to pick as fall begins.

The no doubt shocker of the night was 5 star and Scout.Com's Number 1 ranked player in the state of Georgia Alec Ogletree decision to commit live. With offers from schools all over the country Ogletree made the majority UGA fans in the room go crazy when he announced that he would attend Georgia. No one including our own Chad Simmons even knew he was close to making a decision much less that he would do it on Friday night live.
