Wayne County QB has "Dream Offer"

Wayne County Quarterback Parker Welch attended University of Georgia's Dawgnight this past weekend in Athens and came away with a opportunity to live out a dream and play in Athens over the next 4 years.

Parker Welch is a picture perfect example of a sleeper/raw prospect. He is pro style quarterback playing in a wing T offense at Wayne County high school. However each time I talked to this young man, he never complains he just wants a chance to prove he can play quarterback on the next level. After watching him live at the Scout.com combine in Atlanta this past spring, I know this young man has the tools and drive to be that type of player on the D1 level.

You attended Dawgnight up in Athens this past weekend?

Parker Welch " Yes Sir I did. We toured the campus a little bit and then got to practice over in Sanford stadium. It was awesome and I got to meet David Greene and Fred Gibson. I have been a life long UGA fan so that was awesome."

How did you perform up there?

Welch-" I did real well. David Greene actually told me I did really good. After it was over with Coach Bobo came up to me and said he was impressed and told me that he wanted me to come play in Athens as a preferred walk on."

Have you decided to take them up on that offer?

Welch-" I have always wanted to play at UGA, so it was dream come true to have that opportunity. The recruiting process has been real stressful on me, but that was blessing. I would be able to get the Hope schloarship so I would basically be on full ride if I chose to go there. I am leaning real heavily towards going to UGA, but I am going to wait a little while before I decide."
