Georgia Quarterback Talks Schools

Madison County Quarterback Jacob Owens talks about his summer and what schools he is hearing from the most. One school has already told him they will be in person to see him play this fall.

It is not secret to anybody in the business, that a TON of schools are still looking for a quarterback. I tell everyone I talk to not to get discouraged because their are plenty of offers left to go out.

Jacob Owens is one of those quarterbacks that will get some serious looks this fall. He is tall, has good speed, and throws a very nice ball on the film I have seen.

What schools did you visit this summer?

" I went to Middle Tennessee State, Furman, Wofford, Vanderbilt,Louisville, Georgia Tech, Valdosta State, Samford, UAB and few others"

What schools are you hearing the most from?

" Furman, Jacksonville State and Georgia Tech"

How many yards did you throw for last year?

" I threw for 1,567 yards and 10 touchdowns"

Your team didn't make the playoffs last year. What have you done in the offseason to make sure your are ready for your senior year and lead your team?

"I have been pushing for everybody to come to weightlifting and be on the same page. Last year we had a bunch of seniors that kind of did their own thing. When we got down that hurt our team alot. We are more of a team this year. Everybody gets along with everybody. I worked real hard in the offseason with my skill players also. I have just been really working like crazy to be better."

Rusty's Final Word- At 6'4" and 220lbs Owens will play on the next level. It may be at Quarterback or it may be as a H back/TE. Regardless will keep you updated as the season goes on with Owens.
