Peach State Players Shining Elsewhere

Georgia and Georgia Tech can not sign them all, but you probably think they would want a another shot to recruit some of these players that are Stars at other schools.

It seems like every week I am having a conversation with someone that goes something like this, " how the heck did Tech and UGA let that kid get away?". I always respond that UGA or Georgia Tech can't get them all.

Here is a look at some that UGA or Georgia Tech did not get for one reason or another.

Eric Berry- This athlete out of Creekside High would have to be the first wish for any Yellow Jacket or Bulldawg fan for their team. This play making safety from Tennessee is going to be a top 3 pick in next year's NFL draft.

Cameron Heyward- Has been a starter since his Freshman year at Ohio State at DE. He was selected as a Freshman All American by Sporting News and Scout.Com. Had a stellar career at Peachtree Ridge where he was named the 5A player of the year on defense. He will certainly play on the next level.

Eric Norwood- All SEC LB for South Carolina out of North Cobb HS has a knack for making plays behind the line of scrimmage. Norwood has been voted 1st team ALL SEC for the last two years.

Trevard Lindley- Some services have this Kentucky Wildcat, the number 1 Senior CB in the Country. He was voted first team All SEC by the coaches, Lindley starred at Hiram HS as a prepster.

Jermaine Cunningham- Cunningham is a two year starter for the Florida Gators and was voted 2nd team All SEC last year. He is already on the Ted Hendricks and Bronco Nagurski preseason list. Cunningham attended Stephenson HS.

Ryan McMahon- This junior center from Florida State has started 26 games in a row for the Seminoles. He is on the preseason Dave Rimington list for the nations best center. McMahon played high school at Darlington HS.
