Clash of 2010 Gems Hit the Court Tonight

Tonight at the Waukegan Sectional two of the Top 5 players in the class of 2010 will be battling it out tonight for the right to advance to the Sectional championship game on Friday.

Originally, 6'7" Jereme Richmond from Waukegan was out of tonight's game after being ejected from a Regional game earlier. IHSA rules state with two technical fouls the player must sit out the next game. IHSA Executive Director Mary Hickman made an official ruling that Richmond could play tonight; he received his second technical for hanging on a rim after a dunk.

Here at IllinoisHSPreps.Com, Richmond is listed as the # 1 player in the class of 2010 and Lenzelle Smith checks in at # 2. Smith plays for Zion-Benton Township High School.

Scout.com has Richmond as a 5-Star recruit and the nation's 13th best player in the class of 2010.

Player evaluation on Smith from Scout.com: big-bodied guard whose strength is passing the basketball; has a knack for creating passing alleys and finding guys; unique point guard in terms of size and style.
