Junior WR Keith Sconiers Talks Recruiting

One of the finest receivers in Illinois is also one of the best in the nation. IllinoisHSPreps.com recently chatted with Sconiers about colleges and his goals heading into his senior season.

Skilled wide receiver Keith Sconiers, a member of the class of 2010 from Oak Lawn Richards High School, is listed by Scout.com as a three-star recruit and the 78th best prospect in the nation.

In terms of recruiting, right now most think Sconiers could be a lock for the University of Illinois, but Sconiers states his thought process is wide open.

"I like all the coaches I've met," Sconiers said. "Coach Mallory at Illinois, he's a good guy, but I'm not going to name a leader. Right now most of the Big Ten schools are looking at me, along with Nebraska, Arizona, and Louisville. I don't have a clear-cut favorite. I'm looking for a school where I can get a good education and play some good football."

Sconiers has plenty of support from his family.

"My parents always told me I can go wherever I want," Sconiers acknowledged. "They will support me no matter where I go to school."

Going into his senior year Sconiers knows he must get stronger.

"Right now I'm at 170 pounds and I want to be at 185 by the time next year rolls around, but also faster," Sconiers stated. "Those are two personal goals I set for myself."
