PREVIEW 2014: Crown Point Bulldogs
Coach Kevin Enright and the Bulldogs are hoping to improve on their 6-4 mark of last season. The Bulldogs will have to replace some standouts in the linebacker duo of Connor Andras and Brendyn McKinnon both of whom will play at Butler this fall. Some other key losses are quarterback Jake Jatis (Cornell), RB Tristan Peterson (Carthage), and DL Cody Hipp (Knox)
OL Eric Fiacable (6-4, 275) will lead yet another massive Bulldog offensive line.
QB Artie Equihua started last season in the secondary, this year he will be the man in charge at quarterback.
Junior Morgan Kral is a great weapon at 6-6 210 and can play both wide receiver and tight end. He is also a standout wrestler.
SCOUTING THE: Bulldogs POSITION BY POSITION
A big key will be how junior quarterback Artie Equihua steps up to replace Jake Jatis.
There will be a host of candidates looking to replace Tristan Peterson. Seniors Luke Polus and Troy Grady will compete with Quentin Jones and junior Jesse Martin for top ball carrying honors.
Morgan Kral is a hybrid matchup problem for everyone. Newcomers will need to step up next to him.
Eric Fiacable will lead the big line. He will be joined by Jake Yelich, Mitch Kessler and Nathan Hanlon.
Brandon Seberger and Dallas McRae are returnees in the Bulldogs 3-5-3 defensive scheme.
Junior David Hume will be the next name to watch in standout Bulldog linebackers.
Senior Billy Bernhardt leads the CP secondary.
The Bullodogs will as usual be a factor in the Duneland Conference and sectional 1 contention. Finding a running back or two to run behind a big offensive line will be key. Watch for junior QB Equihua to be as big a running threat as a passing threat. The defense will need a young, but talented group of linebackers to grow up quickly.
