PREVIEW 2015: CHATARD TROJANS
Chatard has been one of Indiana most successful programs capturing 12 state titles. The last two seasons Chatard has been knocked off before Lucas Oil. Coach Vince Lorenzano, who has won six of those state titles, has enough firepower to get the Trojans back to state championship form. Chatard has pumped out D1 offensive linemen like no other team in Indiana. The Trojans graduation losses start with OL Matt McCann (Purdue), Adam Solomon (Illinois), OL James Warren, QB Brian Ball, RB Marlin Bunnell, WR Brooks Hepp, LB Anthony LaRose, S Brian Hannon and S Eric Smith.
Add center Danny Godlevske to the list of D1 linemen produced at Chatard. The 6-3, 280 pound center has committed to Miami (OH). Don’t be surprised to see bigger offers come rolling in as well.
Junior Jarron Pedtke and Gabe Coleman figure to battle it out at running back. Can one of these guys become the Trojans workhorse back.
Offensive linemen Ben Solomon came into his own last season and figures to be a dominant force in his junior season.
BEST POSITION BATTLE:
Senior Lewis Dilts and junior Billy Dury will battle for the quarterback spot.
SCOUTING THE: TROJANS POSITION BY POSITION
Billy Dury and Lewis Dilts will look to replace the consistency of Brian Ball at quarterback.
Juniors Jarron Pedtke (237 yards) and Gabe Coleman (201 yards) join senior Charlie Sexauer (199 yards) as a trio of dangerous runners. Fullbacks Max Adkins and Cole Jaeger both return as lead blockers.
Juniors Graham Jaeger and Max McGinnis are experienced at receivers. Senior Jack Gleaves and junior Charlie Gleaves return at tight end.
Not a surprise here, as the Trojans strength is up front. Danny Godlevske (6-3, 280) leads the way at center. David Schroeder (6-3, 260), Ben Solomon (6-3, 240), David Marsh (6-4, 225) and Jarod Penry (6-6, 230) all saw starting time as well.
Seniors David Schroeder and Charlie Sexauer team with juniors David Marsh and Will Fehribach to form a solid Trojans front.
Graduation wiped out the Chatard line backing core. Look for Charlie Gleaves, Matt Adkins and Jack Gleaves to find their way here.
Cornerback Patrick Sowinski is back to lead the secondary. Some possible names to join him are: Peter Treesh, John Chavis, Tommy Grote and Doug Hirschfeld
It was strange not to see Chatard playing for a state title the last two seasons. If the Trojans can find a workhorse running back to run behind a big and experience offensive line, then the sky is the limit for the Trojans.
