Ben Davis has 3 Players with 2010 Offers

This past weekend, Ben Davis Head Football Coach Mike Kirschner spoke to 350 plus youth coaches at the Colts Farm Bureau Practice facility. A majority of Indiana coaches believe that Ben Davis football is back to the forefront of Indiana H.S. football. Part of that reason is a trio of players who already have entertained offers to play college football.

Coach Kirschner shared with Indiana Varsity Scout that he has 3 players with early offers to play at the next level. Those players are Isaiah Lewis, Phillip Dudley and Jeffery Garrett. Lewis has already garnered 7 offers and Dudley's recruitment is heating up with 3 offers, and Garrett has received his first offer from Akron University.

Isaiah Lewis – is a heavy hitter and with the offers he has been given, you know the college coaches see excellent potential and possibility in this defensive back. Everywhere Lewis has visited, it seems they have given him an offer. It is obvious the coaches like what they see. Lewis is 5' 11" and weighs 190 lbs. He has what some college coaches call ramming speed. Lewis could very easily play strong safety and support the run and the pass. Lewis has been offered by Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky, Minnesota, Iowa and Central Michigan.

Phillip Dudley – Dudley, who was one of several backs used in the Ben Davis running attack in the fall of '08, rushed for 692 yards in his junior season, and led the team with a 6.7 yard average every time he carried the ball. Dudley has already posted good numbers in the ‘09 Pittsburgh Scout Invitational Combine, running a 4.53 40 yard dash and showing his athleticism with strong numbers in the other measured events. Ball State, Akron and Illinois State have offered.

Jeffery Garrett – Has his first offer from Akron University. He was impressive last year at the 2008 Cincinnati combine. His numbers match up to what college coaches are looking for in a DB. Usually with the first offer, other schools follow. Garrett has dreams of playing in college. Those dreams can turn into reality as he enters into his senior season at Ben Davis H.S. On May 3rd, Garrett will be participating in his 2nd combine. Consistent performance is always a great sign of a work ethic. Garrett should galvanize his status as one of Indiana's better DB recruits.
