2009 Pre-Season Indiana All-State O-Line

As we get ready to move into the 2009 Indiana football season, we will honor the "Hogs," the movers and shakers up front. Some pretty good linemen were present at SOS, NEskills camp, and some lineman challenges. Film was sent to me and I have come up with 14 linemen (seniors and juniors) on the offensive side of the ball that Indiana Varsity Scout considers pre-season all-state.

Now, if there are better linemen in this state other than those listed on Scout's database, we will discover them during the season, and on Thanksgiving Day we will unveil the Indiana Varsity Scout All-State team. But for now, these are the top 14 linemen that in our opinion have captured the attention of those who know about these things. So, if we generate a little summer buzz in the hog pens, so be it.

As the 2009 season begins, it is remarkable that everyone's pick for the best player in the state is an offensive lineman. Is this the year that Mr. Football for Indiana will be a "hog"? That opportunity is there for James Hurst at Plainfield. James is 6'5" and weighs 290 lbs. He is headed to North Carolina. James has it all, which is why he was the most offered player in the state (according to our records).
