Lamar Dawson took his first official visit last weekend as the Oregon Ducks took on the Stanford Cardinal. Dawson came away impressed with the outing.

Lamar Dawson was coming off a big showing against Lafayette High in Lexington (Ky.) Friday night, only hours before taking his trip to the west coast and visiting Oregon. Dawson had several tackles in the 40-0 victory and also scored three touchdowns, two rushing on 15 carries and 87 yards. He also caught three passes for 71 yards and another touch.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound was pretty impressed with what he saw once he got to Oregon.

"The visit was real good, overall," said Dawson. "I like everything about. I have a real good impression of Oregon," he said.

As with most prospects, Dawson liked the ambiance on the Duck campus.

"The facilities really stood out and the fans (stood out) as well," said Dawson. "It was everything that I expected," he continued.

Dawson will be in Gainesville this weekend, checking out the Florida Gators as they take on the LSU Tigers. The visit is an unofficial.
