The 6-foot-3, 285-pound defensive tackle, Tyrone Pearson is already one of Kentucky's top rated players in the 2012 class. Pearson held offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Western Kentucky and Illinois. Recently he received offers from three more schools.
Pearson is also making plans to visit a couple of other schools in the coming weeks.
"I'm going to Tennessee for Junior Day in a week. I am very excited (about Tennessee)," he said. "They have a lot of great players who have come from there and it holds a lot of tradition," he said. "I'm also going to Central Florida in March," he said.
Central Florida has been extra busy in Kentucky during the 2011 class and now the 2012 class. What does Pearson know about the Conference USA program?
"I don't know much about them. They have a good team is what I do know. DaMarcus Smith (2011 UCF signee) has been telling me great thing. I am interesting in finding out more," he continued.
Pearson also feels like additional offers could be coming from some of the nation's powerhouse programs.
"I think the big ones are coming. I finally have my film out. Ohio State is talking about offering, along with LSU, Alabama and Florida State," he said. "It's great to see your hard work paying off, but it makes me hungry for more," he continued.
And what about the in-state schools who have already tendered offers? Is Pearson still talking with Louisville and Kentucky?
"I hear from them a lot. I get tons of letters and they can't really call me right now, but we talk to through emails or when I can call," he said.
While Pearson is in good position to play college football with the offers in hand, he's not ready to rest on his laurels.
"I am improving my grades. Really that has been a main focus. But in football I'm running harder to improve my motor so I can make the big plays I make on every play and not just when we need them. I'm working on being more of a leader and getting more vocal on and off the field," he finished.
