At 6-foot-6, 245-pounds, Hunter Bowles has prototype size for a tight end prospect. And on the season last year, he had excellent numbers from the position for a high school prospect. Bowles had 23 catches for 349 yards and six touchdowns. Bowles also played on defense. He had 24 tackles and two fumble recoveries as a junior.
"I felt like I had a good season, but there's always room for improvement. I'm really looking forward to next season," said Bowles.
What should Glasgow expect out of Bowles coming into next season?
"I feel like a player that always gives 100 percent and has always been passionate about football," he said. "I believe my ability to catch the football with my size and speed (are my strengths)," Bowles continued.
Bowles is working to get better and he knows once he focuses on football he will get better.
"(I need to improve) my upper body strength. I play three sports, therefore it's hard to find the time to be fully dedicated in the weight room," he continued.
There are no scholarship offers on the table at the moment for Bowles, but he did get a chance to visit Kentucky this weekend for Junior Day and he visited Western Kentucky for their Junior Day previously. But he's hearing from several teams regularly.
Scout Kentucky Preps will keep you posted on the happenings surrounding Bowles.
