Pearson pumps the brakes

Tyrone Pearson recently committed to his hometown school and long-time favorite Louisville Cardinals. Now Pearson has decided to scale things back a little.

Tyrone Pearson, who promises to be one of Kentucky's top prospects in the 2012 class, recently committed to Charlie Strong's Louisville program.

"I think Coach Strong and Coach (Clint) Hurtt have big things coming to this program and I want to be a part of that," Pearson told Inside the Ville in February.

Now, while none of that has changed, Pearson feels like he was hasty in making his decision.

"I am decommitting (from Louisville)," said Pearson today. "My recruitment is open again. I am still highly interested in Louisville. I just want to give other schools a chance," said Pearson.

Pearson sited pressure as the reasoning for his previous commitment, but despite his change of heart, he's still feeling the Cardinals.

"Louisville is still number one on my list," he finished.

In addition to Louisville, Pearson holds offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, UCF, and Wisconsin.
