Recently Ryan Smith received a letter from LSU stating that they were interested in the 6-foot-1, 300-pound tackle. Accompanying that letter was an invitation to a camp that took place in Baton Rouge this week. Smith felt good about his performance at the camp.
"I had solid performances during testing, drills and one-on-ones," he said.
Smith also talked with a couple of the LSU coaches about his play while on campus.
"I received very positive feedback from the defensive line coach, Brick Haley and the wide receiver coach Billy Gonzalez," he said. "Coach Gonzalez said that I have great feet for my size and I carried my weight well," continued Smith.
"Coach Hale said I had good tools for the next level. He said I kept good leverage and had excellent technique," he said.
The staff told him that they would remain in contact with him.
As a junior, Ryan Smith had 54 tackles and 7 ½ sacks, helping Henry Clay to a 10-3 record last season.
