Corey Trim has had two very productive seasons at Jones Community College in Mississippi after graduating from Redemptorist High in Baton Rouge. Trim finished his senior year as a member of 3A All-State Defensive Team and this season played in the MJCC All-Star Game after earning All-MJCC honors this season. After a recent visit to UL, Corey had some nice things to say about the Ragin' Cajun's program.
"Things have changed in the program," Trim said."They are winning and going to bowl games now and you can just see a difference in the program under Coach Hudspeth. He is the type of coach athletes want to play for; I just want to go to a program that is winning and be part of that."
Corey has a few friends in the program, including former Redemptorist teammate Brandon Nash, Terrance Broadway and Bradley Brown.
"I knew all of those guys coming up in Baton Rouge," stated Corey. "I remember Bradley Brown, Terrance Broadway and Frankie Jackson from Capital; We all came up together and to see some of those guys playing well at UL makes it a place I would like to play college football."
Corey Trim finished his second year at Jones Community College an all-star after totaling 46 tackles, 4 interceptions and returning one for a touchdown. Where does Corey fit in the UL secondary?
"They are looking at me at cornerback," Trim mentioned. "That is where I played the last two seasons and I'm comfortable playing that position. I know that are graduating both their starters, so I can come in and compete right away for a starting position."
While Corey Trim doesn't have an offer, he is expecting one once he takes his official to Louisiana in January.
"They haven't offered me yet, but I think they will when I take my official," Corey stated. "I will get with Coach Stringer and set up my date for my official visit in January. I'm excited about coming down and getting a chance to hang out with some of the guys I know and look around."
