Christian Voelkel picked up an offer from ULM back in June after attending the Warhawks camp in New Orleans. After the Wolves 7-4 season, Christian was named to the 6-5A All-District First Team Offense. With three weekends left in January for visits, Voelkel has three schools on his list to visit.
"I have three schools that I will visit, Wofford, Southeastern and ULL," Christian stated. "Wofford is a very good FCS program with great academics. Coach Golden at Southeastern is recruiting me and said I have a standing offer. And Coach Rebowe from ULL is coming to my home next on a visit. Those are the three programs that I'm currently looking at visiting this month."
Voelkel played tackle this past season for the St. Paul Wolves, which position are the three programs recruiting him to play?
"Wofford and Southeastern are recruiting at tackle," explained Voelkel. "Both programs feel that is the best position for me to play in their system. ULL wants me to come in and play behind Andre Huval for one season at center and compete after freshman season like he did as a sophomore."
Academics is not a problem for Christian Voelkel, he has met NCAA eligibility requirements.
"I made a 24 on my ACT test so I don't plan on taking it again," Christian stated. "Right now I have a 3.5 GPA in my core and I'm interested in majoring in Business Management or Architecture. My father is a architect and I would like to work with him eventually in his business."
