Hunter Close to a Decision

Detroit Consortium (Mich.) junior wing Vincent Hunter talks about his current offer list and his college commitment plans.

Detroit Consortium (Mich.) junior 6-foot-7, 185-pound wing Vincent Hunter has become one to the most versatile players in the class of 2013. Hunter has earned interest from Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oakland, Missouri State and Dayton.

"I am happy to have interest from great schools like Michigan State, Mississippi State, etc." Hunter said. They are all great schools and hopefully they could become offers."

Hunter is known as Mr. Versatility because of his ability to play just about any position on the court. That type of talent has earned him offers from Xavier, Cleveland State, Indiana and Central Michigan.

"I love the fact that I have offers from this many elite division one schools.' Hunter replied. "Each school brings its own flare and style and they all come from different conferences."

Hunter says while he blessed to have some many offers and is enjoying the recruiting process, he hopes to make a commitment before the summer.

"As of right now, my top school is Xavier." Hunter said. "I love the coaching staff, they have shown me a lot of love and appreciation. They constantly stay in contact with me and make me feel like family. I love their style of play and the fact that they make it the NCAA Tournament almost every year. They need an athletic wing that is versatile and I fit that mold."

However, Hunter did say there is one team that could shake things up as far as his decision, that school is Dayton.

"I have yet to receive an offer from Dayton." Hunter replied. "However I plan to visit them in late March, if I receive an offer from them and I like what I see on my visit it could make it a real tough to decide between Xavier and Dayton. I also like Dayton's style of play and the coaching staff."

Hunter says he loves both schools, but one still has the slight upper hand.

"Xavier honestly still has the upper hand." Hunter said. "Xavier was one of the first teams to offer me and as I said before they have always showed me love and appreciation.

Hunter plans to visit both Dayton and Xavier in late March to hopefully make a decision before the summer.

"I will be honest, if all goes well on my visit at Xavier, I probably will commit there without hesitation. "Hunter replied. "However, if things go well on my Dayton visit and they offer, I probably will take more time to figure things out before I commit."
