Mathis Talks ACT, Scout Combine

Detroit Crockett center Donald Mathis has had a lot of testing going on recently. On Saturday, he attended the Cincinnati Scout combine and also received his first ACT results.

Cinncinati hosted a combine on Saturday and one of the more well represented schools there was Detroit Crockett. All of their players who came to the combine showed well, but the best on the day might have been center Donald Mathis.

"It went really well," he said, "I was the number two offensive lineman there."

But, always ready to praise his talented teammates, the big pivot man also was happy to see his fellow Rockets do well.

"Shelton Gaines our defensive end had a big day," Mathis reported, "he was probably the number one defensive end there."

Due to the weather conditions, individual testing was not completed, so Mathis did not get a chance to do any lifting or be timed in the forty. One test he was able to take earlier however, was the ACT and he received those results later in the day.

"I just got the results back and I got an 18," he reported, "and I have 2.8 GPA right now."

Mathis said he plans to continue to prepare for a retake of the ACT at some point this summer.
