Hollis Holds Two Offers, Looking for More

Detroit Northwestern's Anthony Hollis was one of the state's most productive two way players last season. A standout at both wide receiver and cornerback, Hollis has performed well in summer camps and passing leagues leading to his first two offers, but the talented athlete isn't stopping there.

Martez James knows as well as any recruiting analyst that Anthony Hollis should have more offers. The Detroit Northwestern quarterback has the luxury of throwing to Hollis, who even at 5'9, 165 lbs, is one of the best jump ball receivers in the state.

"That's one of my go-to guys," James said of Hollis, "just throw it to him and he'll go up and get it."

Hollis went up and got it 42 times last season, with 10 of those going for touchdowns. But he was truly a threat from anywhere on the field as he also had 4 return touchdowns and 10 interceptions from his corner spot.

With those kind of numbers and also an aggressive, confident style of play, Hollis has drawn interest from several schools, but is still waiting for a few more offers.

"Bowling Green offered me and so did Ball State," Hollis said, "both offered me at camp. I'm also hearing from Minnesota, Michigan, Akron, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa."

The Michigan summer camp was supposed to be a summer destination for Hollis, but a conflict arose and he missed the camp. He is confident that had he been able to attend more camps, he would have more scholarship offers. However, he is in no hurry to get the recruiting process over with.

"I'm going to wait until after this season. I want to take some visits and wait for some more schools to get on me."
