Top 75 Juniors: August Update

After the first few games of the season, we're seeing the cream rise to the top in the class of 2009. Several of our top juniors have cemented their top 10 spots and other unknowns have jumped up into our list.

Rank Name Position School HT WT
Larry Caper RB Battle Creek Central 5'11 185
After struggling the first game, Caper has been on a tear. He is still the best combination of size, speed, athleticisim and versatility this state has to offer.
James Jackson CB/WR Grand Ledge 5'11 170
Hersey Jackson RB/FB Allendale 6'1 215
Dion Sims WR/TE Orchard Lake St. Mary's 6'5 230
William Campbell DT/OT Detroit Cass Tech 6'5 320
Mike Schaaf QB Saginaw Arthur Hill 6'7 220
Ricky Clemons OT Flint Carman-Ainsworth 6'5 315
Chris Norman ILB Detroit Renaissance 6'2 220
Cameron Gordon WR Melvindale 6'3 190
Andrew Maxwell QB Midland 6'3 185
Seeing what Maxwell has done early in the season, it might not be long before he climbs higher. Right now, Maxwell is ahead of Schaaf in terms of the position, Schaaf has more long term potential, but Maxwell is a future college starter.
Reid Fragel TE/DE Grosse Pointe South 6'7 235
Aaron McCord G/DE Detroit Crockett 6'3 245
Raynell Brown DE Detroit Douglass 6'4 240
Undra Peterson RB Adrian 5'11 175
Shamari Benton S/LB Birmingham Brother Rice 6'0 180
Edwin Baker RB Oak Park 6'1 215
What an outstanding start to the season Baker has had. He's ripped off over 200 yards in his last two games and has a combination of size and vision that makes him an intriguing prospect.
Brock Reynolds CB Battle Creek Central 5'11 175
Teric Jones RB Detroit Cass Tech 5'10 181
Zach Matthias OT Hemlock 6'6 290
Christian Brandt OT/DT Orchard Lake St. Mary's 6'5 250
Khyran Major RB Detroit Crockett 5'10 165
Trent Page DE Leslie 6'4 230
Also a fine basketball player, I would say Page has more potential on the gridiron. He's a great athlete who is tough to block off the edge.
Torsten Boss DB/WR Lowell 6'0 170
Isaiah Grimes QB South Haven 6'6 210
Tevin Conrad OT Detroit Pershing 6'6 310
Zak Wasserman QB Stevensville Lakeshore 6'4 215
Leo Wilson SS Farmington Hills Harrison 5'11 191
Jariel Wilson RB Saginaw Arthur Hill 6'0 190
Adam Gulvas LB/DE Standich Sterling 6'3 240
Omari Humes WR/DB Saginaw Arthur Hill 6'3 175
Donnell Davis LB/SS Farmington Hills Harrison 5'11 190
Gabe Helmuth QB/LB Saline 6'1 185
Charlie Chapman OT Carleton Airport 6'7 260
Raw, but talented, Chapman has the frame and feet to project as a left tackle, but is more of a potential player right now.
Adrian Bouyer SS Battle Creek Lakeview 6'2 180
Delano Collins CB Detroit Renaissance 5'10 182
Kenny McDaniels LB/DE Muskegon Heights 6'2 255
Donald Spencer WR Ypsillanti 6'2 175
Taylor Copacia QB Utica Eisenhower 6'4 175
He has had a blistering start to the season. What Copacia must do is add weight, but he has a great arm and shares similarities to another Macomb County prospect James Stallons, now at Wisconsin.
Jason Pratt QB Merrill 6'6 170
Bruce Watson TE/OT Detroit Southeastern 6'7 320
Ian Thomas QB Highland Park 6'0 180
Antonio Randle G Detroit King 6'3 340
Antwan Dixon FB/LB Detroit Southeastern 6'3 230
James Johnson DT Inkster 6'1 280
Dana Dixon FS Detroit Renaissance 6'2 175
Anquan Clemmons CB Grand Blanc 5'10 150
Stephen Todd G/DT Detroit Denby 6'0 290
Dimeko Price RB Battle Creek Lakeview 5'9 170
Lance Atterberry DT Southfield 6'2 275
Casey Blackport QB Hudsonville 6'4 190
Ali Alaboody RB Dearborn Fordson 5'9 165
We knew Alaboody was a great athlete, but he's really put it together early on this season. He is showing he could play on either side of the ball in college.
Thomas Gordon QB/S Detroit Cass Tech 5'11 185
Steve Fegel G Rockford 6'2 265
Martine Stevenson RB Detroit Southeastern 5'6 155
Donte Cherry RB Detroit Osborn 5'10 207
Jordan Jonker RB/S Hudsonville 5'10 180
Sederick Dunbar FS Ferndale 6'2 165
Eric Alamat C/DT Detroit Catholic Central 6'2 300
Mario Steward LB Detroit King 6'2 200
Micajah Reynolds OT Lansing Sexton 6'4 285
Reynolds is one of the state's top returning shot putters and translates that strength well onto the football field.
Carlos Love CB Gibraltar Carlson 5'9 165
Aaron Westendorp QB Holland Christian 6'3 200
Maurice Wirrick OT Saginaw 6'5 250
Jason Hannett OLB/RB Muskegon 5'9 175
