Wk 5 Predictions

There are so many big game this week, with several unbeaten teams meeting and key interconference matchups all across the board. We give you our breakdowns of the big games and how we think they'll play out.

Season Prediction Record: 23-8

Carleton Airport @ Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central
Both teams come in at 4-0 in what should be a really good game. Airport RB Earl Schumake has been the leader on offense for the Jets this year, but this will be the toughest defense he has faced to date. This will come down to a few plays here and there and maybe a field goal at the end.
Prediction: Monroe St. Mary - 27, Carleton Airport - 24

Clinton Township Chippewa Valley @ Macomb Dakota
This will be a good test for Dakota as Chippewa has really played well so far this season. This will be a matchup of two of the MAC red's top running backs in Dakota's Terrence Shelby and Chippewa's DeAndre Harris. But, I think Dakota just has too much up front and their defense will be able to at least contain Harris.
Prediction: Macomb Dakota - 28, Chippewa Valley - 20

Allen Park @ Dearborn Fordson
Another battle of unbeatens and this should be a great game. Fordson has done it on the ground with Hassan Amen and Ali Alaboody, but QB Mohammed Bazzy can throw it when need be and that balance will be key against a Jaguar defense that is coming off a big win over Dearborn. This one should be tight, but I think the Tractors have too much offensive talent.
Prediction: Dearborn Fordson - 35, Allen Park - 27

Detroit Cass Tech @ Detroit King
On paper, 4-0 King should roll 1-3 Cass, but I think they'll at least get the Technicians' best effort here. QB Thomas Gordon is looking like he is finally 100% healthy for Cass and if he can get the ball out to their athletes along with RBs Cortez Smith and Teric Jones running the ball, Cass can keep it close. But, King's defense has been outstanding this year and after seeing what Orchard Lake RB Dominique White did to Cass in game one, I'm seeing a big day for King RB Darrin Williams.
Prediction: King - 21, Cass Tech - 8

Hudsonville @ Rockford
A big matchup in the OK-Red as both teams are undefeated and playing well. The key is whether or not the Rams can slow down Hudsonville RB Jordan Jonker. Conversely, the Eagles have to deal with a tough Rockford offensive line. I think the line, plus a strong game from QB Robert Banaszak means the Rams pull it off.
Prediction: Rockford - 30, Hudsonville - 28

Grand Rapids Christian @ Grand Rapids West Catholic
This game will go a long way in determining a City League champ. Christian RB Michael Booker is dangerous and has been playing well lately, LB Tony Iacovoni and company will have to slow him down. But QB Kirk Deering should be able to make enough plays for a West Catholic victory.
Prediction: West Catholic 28, Christian - 21

Muskegon @ Grand Haven
The surprising Buccaneers are 4-0, but they face a hot Muskegon team tonight and we'll find out who is for real. Simply put though, I think Muskegon has too much speed and the connection between QB Chris Crawford and WR Corey Johnson has been really clicking lately.
Prediction: Muskegon - 35, Grand Haven - 20

Holland Christian @ Zeeland West
After a bad first game, the Maroons and their passing game have really been working and they feel like they can pull off the upset tonight. The Dux aren't quite the team they were last year, but they are still excellent up front and FB/RB Andy Plaska has been outstanding. As with last year, I think West wins this game in the trenches.
Prediction: Zeeland West - 38, Holland Christian - 28

Fowler @ Pewamo-Westphalia
Another battle of the unbeatens, but I think Westphalia, lead by QB Dustin Wieber and LB Gavin Scharr take this one.
Prediction: Pewamo-Westphalia - 26, Fowler - 21
