Moore Looking For First Offer

One instate sleeper at wide receiver is Stevensville Lakeshore's Cam Moore. The big bodied wideout has received interest from several schools in the midwest but is still looking for his first offer. He updated us on how his season and recruitment are going.

Cam Moore is confident that everything will fall into place. The 6'3, 190-lb wideout from Stevensville Lakeshore is a fine athlete, but is still waiting for his first scholarship offer.

"Yeah, no offers yet," he reported, "but I'm trying hard and keeping focused."

Last season as a junior, Moore caught 19 passes, three for touchdowns. He has prototypical size and has shown good route running ability and hands. That package of skills has attracted the attention of college recruiters.

"I'm getting interest from Central Michigan, I went to their junior day, Michigan State, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan all send me mail. I went to Toledo for camp this summer and Akron also sends me a lot of letters."

So far as a senior, Moore has had a productive season despite Lakeshore's increased emphasis on the running game.

"Last year we had a couple different receivers, so we were able to spread the ball around more. We threw it more last year, but I am getting more passes thrown my way this year."

With his team on the cusp of another playoff appearance, Moore is staying focused on the season and not recruiting. But coincidently, that is something college coaches want to hear.

"They just said they want to see leadership," he said, "they want to see 100% every play, blocking, catching every ball with your hands, speed, basically everything."

Moore is hoping that if he continues to show the complete package of skills, that first offer won't be too far away.
