Junior Rankings Updated

As we near the end of the regular season, Michigan Varsity has re-done our Junior rankings. Changes have been made at the top in particular, with a new name entering the top three.

Rank Name Position School HT WT
1 Larry Caper RB Battle Creek Central 5'11 215
2 William Campbell DT/OT Detroit Cass Tech 6'5 320
Big Will has been really impressive at times this season. When he has a fire lit under him, he is outstanding. He could be a top 50 national player next year.
3 Edwin Baker RB Oak Park 6'0 215
The big riser this update (and this year), Baker combines good size with 10.5 speed and good instincts. He will have programs from all over the country after him.
4 James Jackson CB/WR Grand Ledge 5'11 170
5 Dion Sims WR/TE Orchard Lake St. Mary's 6'5 230
6 Hersey Jackson RB/FB Allendale 6'1 215

13 Zach Matthias OT Hemlock 6'6 290
14 Aaron McCord G/DE Detroit Crockett 6'3 245
15 Undra Peterson RB Adrian 6'0 180
In an oustanding class of running backs, this speedster sometimes gets lost in the shuffle, but he has great athleticism and receiving ability.

17 Brock Reynolds CB Battle Creek Central 5'11 175
18 Teric Jones RB Detroit Cass Tech 5'10 181

By the time it is all said and done, this supposed basketball prospect could be a top 10 football player in-state. He has oustanding quicks and lateral ability that allows him to stick to receivers.

37 Micajah Reynolds OT Lansing Sexton 6'4 285
38 Zak Wasserman QB Stevensville Lakeshore 6'5 210
Great potential with his size and arm strength -- Wasserman is still learning the position but his upside alone will draw him a lot of looks when he hits the camp circuit this Spring/Summer.
39 Jason Pratt QB Merrill 6'6 170
40 Sederick Dunbar FS Ferndale 6'2 165
41 Mario Steward LB Detroit King 6'2 200

Gordon is a fine athlete. He won't be a quarterback in college, but he has the strength and speed to be a great safety. He plays sparingly there now, but with both safeties graduating, he will see plenty of time there next season.

Martin has the strongest arm in the state. The velocity on his passes are outstanding and he can throw it 65 yards with ease. He has played better of late...he's raw, but he is a gem worth polishing.

58 Keith Brooks DT Detroit Southeastern 6'4 280
