State Finals Matchups Set

What a great day for football it was in Michigan. The semi-final matchups provided some fireworks and a couple of classic finishes. In the end, two teams in each division were left and the stage is set for this weekend at Ford Field.

DIVISION I
Livonia Stevenson vs Macomb Dakota
It will be Stevenson and the White brothers taking on Kyle Demaster and a tough Dakota defense. Stevenson gutted out a barn-burner with Troy 40-35 and Dakota outlasted Detroit Catholic Central 17-7.

DIVISION II
Detroit King vs Midland

The PSL is represented this year and by a very worthy King squad loaded with talent. They'll face a tough Midland team where junior QB Andrew Maxwell gets most of the recruiting attention, but a tough line and RB Colter Roberson are their keys for victory. The Chemics pulled out a tough 31-28 win over Lowell, while King beat Rochester Adams.

DIVISION III
Orchard Lake St. Mary's vs East Grand Rapids

Two of the state's most successful teams square off. St. Mary's hasn't been challenged too much in the playoffs, but they face a tough Pioneer team lead by senior QB Cal Blair. Eagles WR Dion Sims is the headliner, but its RB Dominique White who has carved up defenses all season. They can't be overconfident though, EGR FB Joe Glendening can do his share of running as well.

DIVISION IV
Detroit Country Day vs Marine City

Even with Jonas Gray's 305 rushing yards, Country Day still needed a last minute hook and ladder to take out Zeeland West 37-30. A different look for the Yellowjackets this week as they go from the Dux' Wing-T ground attack to facing the live arm of Brendon Kay.

DIVISION V
Menominee vs Jackson Lumen Christi

DIVISION VI
Saginaw Nouvel vs Blissfield

DIVISION VII
Traverse City St. Francis vs Mendon

DIVISION VIII
Crystal Falls Forest Park vs Fulton-Middleton
