Meridians Dandy Dozen was suspended from school and didn't play. Gulfport won a close one but he would've made a big difference. But that was last season. Both teams are fast and physical. I give the edge to meridian cause I think Meridian down right tougher. Location of this game will make the biggest difference if it's in meridian I will take them by double digits..
The game was not as close as the score. I thought Gulfport would struggle tonight vs Meridian. I was wrong. I'm surprised Gulfport is as good as they are loosing 4 starters from last years team. Jahshire Hardnett has really improved. Dimitri Cook is much improved from last year. Miller seems to do a good getting players better. Should be a good game on Tuesday vs St Martin. Who do y'all like??
I got to catch the ReMatch to see if Gulfport plays that good on the road. Meridian just flat out got out played and couldn't make Gulfport turn it over much. Both teams have the best all around guard play I have seen this season. Both teams should be trying to host the South Half. Location will determine a lot I do think
Gulfport played a great game. Cook dominated, Meridian got size and some speed but didn't have the ball control at that fast pace. The Floyds quick feet caused Meridian turn overs many times. I thought Hardnett was letting up at times. When he took the lead he ran the court and scored. The speed was incredible. However, Hardnett is going to have to press down court instead of following the team down court with this team. Other games, Moss Point, he did so. Maybe he was off some.
