Heart Tells Neal To Be A Sooner

The number #2 prospect in the state of Missouri for the class of 2012 makes his college decision on and unofficial visit to Oklahoma and we have the details

ShowMePreps.com has learned that St. Louis (MO) DeSmet Jesuit WR/KR Durron Neal 6'0" 195 has given a verbal commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners after taking an unofficial visit to Norman on Tuesday and staying over into Wednesday.

We spoke to Neal to get the scoop on his decision.

"Yes, sir, I committed to Oklahoma about 25 minutes ago," said Neal.

"I had talked to my high school coach and my family and they said that I would just have a feeling when I knew a school was the right place for me. Well, I had this feeling in my heart being here on campus that Oklahoma was where I wanted to be," he added.

Neal discussed some of the things that made him have this feeling.

"Just looking at everything. Walking around campus. Everything is right there in walking distance. The coaches, the campus the players. Everyone here is family, and when you ask them a question they all have the same answer. Everyone is on the same page here."

Neal said that before he left he went up to Coach Norvell and said that he wanted to speak with Coach Stoops.

"Coach Norvell said that he knew by the look in my eye that I was ready to be a Sooner,"said Neal." So I went to see coach Stoops and gave him the news."

Durron also spoke about seeing QB Gunner Kiel on campus, so I asked if he could shed any light on Kiel's decision he will be making this Sunday.

"Gunner left about 10 minutes before I committed. He doesn't even know that I committed, but we talked and I asked him what he would be doing. He just winked at me and said that I would know come Sunday."

Neal, he also held offers from schools such as Missouri, Alabama,Auburn and others, told me that he would not be taking anymore visits and that his high school coach Pat Mahoney would be informing all the other schools recruiting him of his decision.
