Despite signing day just behind us,the state of Missouri's class of 2014 is already under the microscope of BCS schools looking for quality football players. We lead the way introducing you to the next top prospects.

The state if Missouri's class of 2014 football prospects have already heard from a steady stream of football coaches even before the LOIs were sent from the 2013 crop.

Multiple offers have been extended to date, including to a Lee's Summit (MO) prospect who picked up an offer from Iowa last week.

"I was surprised! I think it's a great start," said Jimmie Swain, 6'3" 212 4.51 forty- 33" vertical jump, when asked about receiving his first offer from the Big 10 school. "Iowa's coach who is recruiting me talked to my coach and then spoke to me and said they were very impressed with my film They like me as an outside linebacker and want me to come up for a junior day. I;m excited to and will be looking at their academics. I already know that they have a good following and good athletic facilities and stadium that they sell out often with a good fan atmosphere."

Iowa isn't the only school Swain has been hearing from.

" Missouri has been sending me packets and I have heard  from their linebackers coach. He wants me to come watch a game, I went up there and it's a good atmosphere and Mizzou has a good staff. Coach Hill has been by my school. Illinois came by my school and has been sending me messages and a bunch of letters. They invited me to their junior day on March 9th, and Kansas and Ohio State are the other schools I have heard from early. Kansas came by my school and would like more information on me and have a conversation with my coach. They want me to come over for a junior day. Ohio State has been vague about what's going on. It's a school I like and my coaches have notified them about me. My options are always open at this time,"said Swain.

Lee's Summit's Coach Thomas spoke highly of his junior linebacker.

"Jimmie is a great worker and student both on and off the field. He has a 3.5 GPA and has a high football IQ. He studies the game and on the field is very physical and runs very well and makes plays. He has good speed with a 4.5 forty and maxes out in his lifts with a 298lb bench, 290lb clean and 400lb squat at 6'3" 212lbs, so you can see why schools are coming after him,he said.

Swain told me that he wants to study business in college and that a school with top flight academics will be a priority in looking for his college destination along with a few other things.

"A strong player/coaching staff relationship is very important. How they interact with the players and their ability to make me better and get the most from me as a player means a lot. Also winning is important, along with a great business school,"he said.

Jimmie isn't in a hurry to make a commitment to a school and is looking to explore all of his options.

Player Analysis:

Jimmie Swain is a very active athletic linebacker prospect with good speed who is physical and makes plays. He has good vision and follows the plays as they unfold using his athletic abilities and a high motor to his advantage to run down plays and disrupt offenses. Sheds blocks well, is strong at the point of attack or from the backside and comes hard on the blitz on the inside or can rush off the edge. He could play either inside or out on the next level and has the frame to get a lot bigger. He still needs work on his drops in his pass coverage, but has the athleticism to do well there as he continues to work on it.

ShowMePreps and will update and report on Jimmie Swain's recruitment and senior season as it unfolds.
