Knes Picks Up First Offer From Illini

St. Louis (MO) Parkway Central DE/LB prospect Trey Knes has worked hard in the hopes of picking up his first D1 football offer. It happened for him while on a junior day visit on Saturday.

Parkway (MO) Central DE/LB Trey Knes 6'5" 220 4.64 forty was among the many visitors at the University of Illinois junior day on Saturday. While at the event, Knes picked up a verbal offer from the Illini. He informed about his offer and what his junior day visit was like.

"First we watched practice. Then I was asked to go up stairs to talk with Coach Beckman. When I walked into his office they had an Illini jersey with my number 15. I put on the jersey and took pictures with my family and Coach Beckman. Then he made the offer," said Knes. "Afterwards, they gave me a tour of the campus."

Knes shared his thoughts on how he feels following  receiving his first offer.

" I am very excited about getting the offer. It has been a major goal that I have been working toward for a long time. I'm happy to know that it is within reach.  It means a lot to me that they were the first school to offer,"he said.

He also shared his thoughts on the Illini program.

" It has a strong academic program with a nice campus. I really like to coaching staff. I also like the fact that its close to home. I will probably go back to Illinois within the next month for an unofficial visit," said Knes.
