NPS - Football Top 10's - Sept. 15

Week 3 saw a shakeup of the ratings due to difficulties by normal powerhouses. Class B saw the biggest shakeup. I can not remember if a poll has ever not included either Elkhorn HS and/or Lincoln Pius X in it.

Comments ..... Omaha Central (0-2) and Lincoln Northeast (1-1) drop out of the top 10 after losses to ranked teams. Top 4 teams remain the same. Creighton Prep has shown the strength and balance to match up with a speed team and a team built around a strong defense and power offense so remains No. 1. Millard North is showing that they have an exceptional team also. Lincoln Southeast appears to looking for a little more from their running attack. North Platte and Omaha Westside round out the top 5. Omaha Byran and Papillion-LaVista move into the top 10.

Comments ...... Crete, Lincoln Pius X and Omaha Gross all drop just out of the top 10 rankings after losses last week. Omaha Roncalli and McCook remain 1-2 in the poll with Gretna at No. 3. Beatrice makes a big jump to No. 5 after not being ranked previously. Ralston remains in the rankings with an 0-2 record after losing to Class A No. 7 Omaha Byran.

Several teams are just waiting to move into the rankings they include Elmwood-Murdock, Laurel-Concord, Bancroft-Rosalie, and Randolph.

Comments ........ Falls City SC drops out of the rankings after a lost last friday. Republican Valley looked very good in their victory and will continue to be watched closely for a possible move up. Other teams being watched include Diller-Odell, Anselmo-Merna, Silver Lake, and Spencer-Naper.
