The Nebraska Prep Sports panel takes a look at the Class A football quarterfinals scheduled for Monday. The Nebraska Prep Sports Panel is currently picking 81.4% games correctly, including 42% of our UPSET SPECIALs. .

Now a look at the Class A quarterfinals.... .

.

*** Millard West at Millard South.

.. Regular season produced a 14-10 game that was decided by the special teams and won by Millard West. Millard South eliminated defending state Class A champion Lincoln Southeast in round 1. This game should be a defensive struggle and the final score will likely depend on turnovers and special teams. .

... The pick ... Millard West 7-6 .

.

*** Papillion-LaVista at Omaha Creighton Prep .

... Nebraska Prep Sports season long No.1 team Omaha Creighton Prep faces a team that gave them big match-up problems during the season in Papillion-LaVista. PLV had approx. 230 yards passing in the first game. PLV QB Allen Evridge had an excellent night in that game and will need to be just as good this game for PLV to have a chance. Omaha Creighton Prep seems to have the depth needed to go to Lincoln and maybe even better next season. .

... the pick ... Omaha Creighton Prep 21-7 .

.

*** North Platte at Bellevue East .

... Bellevue East upset Lincoln East in round 1 and showed the other teams in the playoffs that they were a team that was going to play every down and focus on doing what they can do. But the story of this game will be HOW the supporting players on the North Platte team step up -- especially QB Derek Enderle. North Platte RB Danny Woodhead must be slowed down and that means that the defense will have to "key" on him whenever North Platte is on offense. This game will turn on big plays. .

... the pick ... North Platte 35-20 .

.

*** Omaha Westside at Millard North.

... This will be a bruising game. Millard North averages almost 9 yards per play on offense. And all they do is run behind a stong line with talented athletes. Omaha Westside will have to control the ball and field position to have a chance in this game. With all the great players that have played at Millard North and the number of times they have entered the playoffs as the favorite -- remember last year's championship game against Lincoln SE you know Millard North has not --- this maybe the year .... or not ?? .

... the pick ... Millard North 24-17 .
