Silverado always has good talent, over the past three season they have given up less than 14 pts per game. They have had some character issues with players, and a problem putting points on the board. Adding Randall should help them score points. I dont think his son will be ready to play Varsity until his sophmore season, size isn't there yet.
As long as Coach O is a dictator with the offense it wont be successful. He hog ties his OC in what they can run and when they can run it. I would love to be a fly on the wall when Andy tells Randall to "Stop *&^%ing throwing the ball, we run the ball."
Looks like someone is doing a little newspaper recruiting. Randal isn't the first former pro or college standout to do some local high school coaching but who from Silverado called the local press about this one? Plus,Cunningham said. "It's pretty amazing the outpouring support of parents wanting to move into the Silverado zone." Now that is more blatent (sp)than Bishop Gorman has ever done.

and your point is? Too bad more schools don't make moves to strengthen the program. Gorman isn't going away and if teams want to compete they better step up and build programs instead of just complaining and trying to tear down the one school that gives it 100% to football.
I guess Coach O is just "keeping up with the jones's!" I'm sure he is tired of watching Gorman, Palo, Vegas, and Liberty recruting kids and getting away with it. Especially when his kids are the one's being stolen to go to Liberty and Gorman. I think recruiting is wrong, but I guess a guy can only take so much.
About Cunningham, are you kidding me? He will only help out that staff and Coach O. It's not like the offense was lighting it up with the old offensive coordinator. This whole thing is a big gamble, but I believe it will pay off. Looking at the numbers, Ostolaza has gone 20-10 in his first three years at Silverado and everybody outside of the school has called for his job. If that is the case, bringing in Cunningham won't add any new pressure.
I guess I'm in the minority on this, because every post has been anti-ostolaza. However, at the end of the day, Coach Rost is untouchable, Sanchez has coaches in the junior high levels, and Ostolaza has Cunningham. Like they say "if you cant beat them, join them". Should shape out to be a great 2010 season.

You are making a great point. but you have to know the situation. Coach O hendered the OC on play calls and personel. To be honest Coach should have just called the "O", because that is what it turned into by game time.
Do you coach at Silverado? What do you mean by "knowing the situation". I would believe that would be something that is known within the program walls, unless you are on the sidelines. If your not a coach at Silverado, I would not believe he hendered play calling and personnel. I especially don't believe it if the information is coming from a second hand source. Just wondering because it doesn't sound right.
Bringing in help isn't the issue, advertising it in the papers to recruit is. Silverado has never had a shortage of talent, advancing to the level of that talent is. Even Randle said in his comments that they had big, fast and talented players there. Now then using the Ghetto mentality that its ok to break the rules or the law because others are doing it is just wrong and flat out ignorant. Hell there are alot of people getting away with selling drugs and other wrong doings and getting rich but it doesn't make it right except to the ignorant. The schools that are doing things the right way need to group together and get the NIAA and CCSD to curb these problems. They have a coaches meeting every year, step up and say something if you know these things are truths. Call other coaches out at the meetings. Heck just getting your principal to not sign transfers will stop alot of problems.
The post started about Randall Jr, and he will be a very good football player, with only 3 years of tackle football experience, he is still a little raw, but has a huge upside. The pedigree is there and I look forward to seeing great things from the kid in the future.
Randall Cunningham will definitely help Silverado in more than one way. Obviously recruiting will be his main impact. Since Randall began coaching at the youth level, parents have driven across town to play for him, and this won't change at Silverado. (F.Y.I. it still didn't win him a championship!)
But Randall has a knowledge of the game that many people have never had the chance to experience, sit down and talk with him, he is a very humble man, and I wish him all the luck at Silverado!
And Anu Soloman won a state title as a freshman at Gorman, there isn't anyone in the state that could come in and immediately take his job, Sanchez loves the kid and I can't blame him. Anu is good, but Little Randall's have a much greater upside! Just my opinion
And Gorman having coaches at the youth level, is too funny! All the good programs have coaches at the youth level! Darwin Rost Son plays on Palo Middle school team, he is at practices and games recruiting players. Canyon Springs has coaches at youth level, and Hunkie hands down had the most talented freshman team in state this year, watch out for canyon in next few years. Liberty as well. (just fyi)
And people don't like to talk about it but, Faith Lutheran has been poppin up recently at the youth level! HMMMM they have Dan Dolby at Faith, if you dont remember he brought in most of the players on the last 2 Gorman state championship winning teams.
how about every one get of little Cunninghams wagon. Silverado is not going to change over night. The Nevada fotball mind set is line up, run the ball, even though we are down by 40 points. Most teams not all, but most run a generic I formation / or wanna be spread offence. that is slow and sloppy. If you watch a california game, it could be a blow out, but it still looks like a football game. Nevada is very far behind all the other states. I think Randalls going to Silverado is a good thing.
