Las Vegas DB Jashaad Gaines picks his school

Defensive Back and Running Back Jashaad Gaines of Las Vegas High School has selected his school for the upcoming football season. The final recruiting battle was between Stanford, Nebraska and Notre Dame. The Wildcat has chosen to attend the following school.

Gaines will be headed to Notre Dame. His sister, Tulyah, plays for the Irish Volleyball team. He holds a 3.9 GPA. THis season he has had 11 solo tackles in 4 games. With a frame of 6'2 200 pounds, he is expected to play in the defensive secondary for the Irish.

Coach Charlie Weis picked up on Gaines after he had just started to receive recruiuting interest from Tyrone Willingham. UNLV and UNR did not even make the list of schools he considered.

Las Vegas is currently ranked in the Top 4 teams in the State of Nevada. In recent years top players from Las Vegas High have included: Cory Williams at Washington, Jon Pollard at Oregon State, Richie Plunket at Colorado State. Las Vegas was the former high school of Top 50 recruit Eric Jordan, who transfered in town to Shadow Ridge High.
