Demarco gets loose again this weekend!

We have been able to keep up with how our former Alumni have been doing playing in college this season. Interesting is how the Las Vegas Review Journal is now copying what we started. Not trying to be Chuck Hildebrand and bag on the Reno Gazzette. Matter of fact it did little good with that old Northern Site now out of business! But, here is how our local boys did this week in football.

Demarco Murray of Gorman had another big day for Oklahoma as he put up over 175 yards of total offense in their big win at Texas A & M this weekend. He caught a TD pass in the victory.

Tysson Poots of Coronado continued his great year at Southern Utah with a 22 yard TD grab leading his team again with 70 yards receiving in their win over North Dakota.

Stephenson Sylvester of Utah and Valley did not disappoint with another solid effort against TCU in the MWC Game of the Week. Too bad that ESPN could not show it. He ended up leading his defense in tackles in the contest.

Silverado's Ben Jacobs had another double digit tackle day for Fresno State in their loss against Nevada on Friday night. Brett Jaekel of Bonanza added 2 field goals for the Pack in their win besting his brother Ben - who had a 52yard field goal in the UNLV suprise win at home against New Mexico. He missed another 52 yard FG later in the game.

UNLV got great play on defense from Las Vegas Cat Nate Carter, Palo Verde's Rusty Worthen, Gorman's Beau Orth and Chris Jones of Shadow Ridge as they played well in the victory. Phillip Payne struggled with only 22 yards receiving in the game. The Western star still beat out former Gael Chris Mark of NM who had a single grab.

Billy Winn of Vegas, as well as Sean Bingham of Reno and Dallas Dobbs of Chap had ok games in the Boise State blowout win this weekend.

Keola Antolin of Gorman continued his TD march with a rushing TD in the Arizona win over lowly Washington State this weekend. Across the State, Dan Knapp of Reno caught a couple balls in the Arizona State win over Washington this weekend.

Former Gator Brett Johnson had 7 tackles in the Cal loss to USC. Good news in the Big East with Aaron Bagsby of Green Valley is now starting at Safety for the bowl bound UCONN Huskies.
