Nevada Prep Football - Record Signing Day

Nevada High School Football had another monster day for national recruits. This year's class is led by two Southern Nevada players headed to Oklahoma. Nevada also had a player signed by Notre Dame. Bishop Gorman may have fallen way short in the playoffs, but they led all schools in the State in number of players signed. Here is a list of the players who signed and those that are still out there waiting.

Demarco Murray -Bishop Gorman- ended up ranked in the Top 10 players in the Country -he will be headed to Oklahoma where he will be groomed to replace Adrian Peterson. Oklahoma had another player sign with them as well - Cheyenne safety - Quinton Jones. They join last year top recruit Ryan Reynolds of Gorman at Oklahoma.

Gorman also scored with these recruits - Martrell Fantroy - SDSU, Deangelo Wilkinson - Gorman and Conor Foley who transfered from New Mexico State to Weber State. QB CJ Sedoris could be a Gray Shirt candidate at CSU.

UNLV scored with Davell Jackson of Eldorado. He had a miserable season without a solid QB and also losing his Head Coach prior to the season. They also signed Ronnie Paulo of Western.

Jerry Siewierski of Reed signed with UCLA. North star Derek Kosub of Hug signed with Washington. Mark Dodge of Yerrington transfered from JC to Texas A & M.

Stevenson Sylvester of Valley signed with Utah. Eno Obons odong signed with Utah State out of Valley.

Ben Jacobs of Silverado signed with Fresno State.

Ariece Perkins of Rancho signed with Weber State

Mike Smith - Palo Verde signed with Nebraska

Jashaad Gaines of Las Vegas signed with Notre Dame

Alex Toney of Shadow Ridge signed with Wyoming

James Farrelly from Boulder City signed as a JC transfer to New Mexico State. Brian Williams of DP signed as a transfer with Washington State. Tico Pringle of Las Vegas signed with BYU out of Snow JC

The suprise players left out of the mix at the moment - Eric Jordan of Shadow Ridge - who was being looked at by PAC 10 and Mountain West schools. His down year and size hurt his chances this year. George Vea of Pahranagat Valley also came up short. Justin Sirina of McQueen is another mystery - he was being recruited by Washington, WSU and UCLA then dropped off. Troy Cummings of Shadow Ridge also dropped off. Coronado WR Tyson Poots did not register with many recruiting experts. While having a great year, he did not get enough push for colleges to review him. Jamal Lomax of Las Vegas is another player who did not get a snif either.

UNLV scored with Jackson who is a sleeper player who will challenge for playing time. Suprisingly Oregon State and Oregon came away with no Nevada players. Same with Boise State. Big Sky schools also were suprisingly absent in the hunt for Nevada players.

With the millineum scholarship in Nevada, expect Nevada and UNLV to score some outstanding walk on talent.

We will have signings by Junior Colleges and smaller programs in our next story.
