Record Setting Day For Coronado Grad

Former Coronado QB Andrew Hatch has given the school plenty of national publicity by starting at LSU this year. Hatch scored again this week in a battle against Florida. Not to be out done is the play of former WR Tysson Poots of Southern Utah who had a monster day against Cal Davis scoring 4 touchdowns with 144 yards setting a SUU record. Bad news for Gorman Grad Ryan Reynolds out with a torn ACL

Reynolds had 3 tackles in the Red River Shootout against Texas this weekend prior to tearing his ACL and being listed out for the rest of the season. Former Gael Demarco Murray did not have the game of last year, as he ran for only 7 yards with 4 grabs for 56 yards. Quinton Carter of Cheyenne added 2 tackles from his secondary position.

For those who had the ESPN Game Plan on their Cable or Direct TV packages, had the chance to see a breakout performance by Shadow Ridge star Preston Davis. His 2nd touchdown grab of the night was a full extention grab that would usually make the ESPN Top 10 plays of the night. He had 6 grabs for 77 yards on the night against Fresno State who was a 30 point favorite. The Vandals really scrapped in this game, as Davis even recovered an on side kick in the 3rd quarter.

Ben Jacobs of Silverado had another steady game with 9 tackles and 2 pass break ups for the Skyhawks. Jon Monga of Foothill is still injured and is nursing a knee injury prior to the Bulldogs get into their brutal stretch to end the season with Boise, Nevada and Hawaii.

Arizona State never got things going this week at USC, as they were manhandled by the Trojan offense. Lawrence Guy of Western who started only had 1 tackle in the game. Jarrell Holman of Cheyenne added 2 tackles for the Sun Devils on the night. Reno's Dan Knapp had one grab for the Devils as he started at TE.

Lets not forget about the SUU Defense and the play of Lincoln County's DJ Lucchess who had 12 tackles against UC Davis.

Chris Mark of Gorman is starting at TE for New Mexico and had one grab for 26 yards against BYU. Rashaan Greer of Mojave and CSU was banged up this week and did not see time against TCU. Same for Spencer Armstrong of Silverado playing for Air Force who also did not see action due to injury.

Utah keeps up with the top class of the MWC as they beat a poor Wyoming team handily. They went through the motions in the contest and some of the stats show it. Stevenson Sylvester of Valley had only 4 tackles and Eddie Wide had 4 carries for 16 yards and 1 tackle on special teams. Deshawn Richard of Rancho had 4 tackles as well for the Utes.

Boise State had a nice win on the road against Southern Miss. Billy Winn of Vegas has moved into the starting slot at DE and had only 2 tackles. Dallas Dobbs has been rotating in and out of the LB corp and had only a tackle in the game.

Up in Reno, the Wolfpack was simply out gunned in their matchup with highflying NMSU in a loss. Suprising the Pack only drew 12,000 fans. Say what you want about UNLV's program, but they continue to outdraw the Wolfpack. Jaekel of Bonanza had a 41 yard field goal in the game.
