Corey Fisher Impressive At IS8

Corey Fisher is a player to watch over the next three years ...

After watching several games at IS8 over the past month, most fans would have to agree a player to watch out for is Corey Fisher, an outstanding freshman guard from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Fisher played this past weekend for the Juice All Stars.

Fisher showed the ability to drain long-range jumpers for the Juice All Stars. He scored 18 points, including three three-pointers. Fisher was named the newcomer of the year for the IS8 spring event.

Fisher, 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, will need to work on taking care of the ball better. But the frantic pace of yesterday's final against Mount Vernon seemed to fit Fisher just fine. All of his baskets came from downtown. As he progresses in the area of taking the ball to the basket, Fisher is likely to be considered among the top guards on the high school level.

The local major schools already know about Fisher. He is already being looked at seriously by Seton Hall, Rutgers, Syracuse, Connecticut, and St. John's. He is likely to receive many high offers as his career matures.
