Fisher Still Competing For St. Patrick

A rumor circulating about Corey Fisher transferring was squashed this past weekend

No doubt Corey Fisher, the outstanding shooting guard from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey, is considered one of the best players in the 2007 class. Fisher had a tremendous IS8 spring league with the Juice of Brooklyn, New York. The Juice lost to Mount Vernon in the elite spring league final.

A rumor published by another website stated that Fisher was transferring to Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, New York to be closer to his Juice buddies. Well, as of this past weekend, the rumor appeared to not be true. Though you can never tell whether that will change by the time September rolls around again.

Fisher and his head coach, Kevin Boyle, each denied that Corey had transferred. Fisher came off the bench this past weekend for a St. Patrick team that advanced to the final of the AND1 tournament held at Seton Hall University.

Fisher has a terrific stroke and is being recruited by every major local school at this early stage of his recruiting process. He has great range on his jumper and tremendous confidence in his offensive game. It's likely he will be highly rated by the time he is a rising senior.

For now, it looks like Fisher will play his sophomore year with Boyle's St. Patrick High School team.
