Shamari Spears Has High Major Interest

Shamari Spears is one of the better players in the 2006 class

Shamari Spears, the 6-foot-6, 230-pound junior combo forward from Blair Academy in Blair, New Jersey, is highly regarded as a player that can make an immediate impact on the offensive side of the ball.

Spears has competed in the past few weeks at the IS8 Spring League. He has been very impressive. His team was recently eliminated but Spears is a player many high division one schools will focus on in the next year.

A native of North Carolina, Spears stated he is wide open in his recruiting process. "Virginia Tech and Clemson have been recruiting me very hard," Spears said. "But I am open. I have been hearing from several other schools."

St. John's, Marquette, Syracuse, Connecticut, villanova, and Kansas are among several other schools that interest Spears early on in his recruiting process.

St. John's and Villanova have already extended offers, according to Spears.
