Henderson Flying High For The Playaz

Gerald Henderson continues to showcase his great athletic skills at the IS8 League

The crowd has a favorite player at IS8 in South Jamaica, New York. And it's for a pretty good reason -- the kid can jump to the ceiling. Just a junior,Gerald Henderson is considered one of the best players in the 2006 class.

Henderson has a chance to showcase these skills with a great deal of exposure since he plays for Jimmy Salmon's AAU program, the Playaz Club of New Jersey.

Over the past few weeks, Henderson has been one of the big reasons why the Playaz have advanced to the quarterfinal round of the IS8 Fall playoffs.

This past week, Henderson scored 16 points to help the Playaz down a Levance Fields/Saiquon Stone team. Many points scored by Henderson came on pretty drives and dunks. Gerald also collected three jumpers, showing his versatility as a player.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound athlete from Episcopal Academy in Pennsylvania, has many scholarship offers on the table. He does remain open but Gerald has said he is very interested in the ACC and Big East schools.

Henderson has taken unofficial visits to North Carolina, Duke, North Carolina State, and Wake Forest. He has been to the campus of Villanova on several occasions. Notre Dame has also been mentioned by Henderson as a school of high interest.
